Allows technician to replace the pinion bearing races in the 8.25" K-truck front axle. J-45858-B8 is similar to J-45754, which is currently on the 9.25" front axle. J-45754, J-45858-B, and J-45765 together will perform all of the functions of J-36598, and work on more applications, at a lower cost to the dealer. J-45858-B replaces J-45858 due to replacement bearing changing from Timken to Koyo. The Koyo bearings require new outer bearing cup installer (J-45858-1B) and inner bearing cup installer (J-45858-2B) to fit the new bearing cups. Using the original J-45858-1 and J-45858-2 on Koyo bearing cups can damage the cups, but J-45858-1B and J-45858-2B will work on both Timken and Koyo bearing cups.
